Sunday Stanzas: On Silence and Its Price
market, siphonophore, stretch
Welcome back to another edition of Sunday Stanzas, a community poetry scheme where you all provide me with weird and wonderful words and I write you weird and sometimes wonderful poetry. Many thanks to hiraeth and the folks on Instagram for today’s word prompts!
\\ They peddled us the myth of free markets, free speech while subsidizing silence, building their siphonophores, trailing sycophants copy and pasted Stretched thin, my heart strung out like the wail of a cello I join in the death rattle of my brothers and sisters sick off the silence in the face of lies and fear //
If you would like to participate in next weekend’s edition, head over to my Substack notes or Instagram story to comment your random word(s) of the day. ‘Til next time <3
