This poem is inspired by the prompt “weave, weave the sunlight in your hair” by @fayefoxes over on Instagram. Check out her page for her September prompts and to read her wonderful, witchy poetry.
\\ Weave, weave the sunlight in your hair the final vestiges of Summer cling to you; lighting the way, leading you to Autumn. The sun fades from the world but never from you As Winter knits darkness, a blanket for the cold growing wider and wider as the snow joins your vigil. Yet, still you shine, a light undimmed, the sun’s vessel, luminary of this growing night ‘Til Spring returns and the sun reclaims her place, illuminating the Earth’s domed cathedral. How beautifully her creation rejoices lifting up its faces, how beautifully dances the sunlight in your hair //
